Everyone stops paying attention to Jesus and the view, and just pays attention to Jim Carrey.

One of our favourite Hollywood couples have called it quits after five years.

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy announced their amicable split over Twitter, followed by an official statement from their publicists.

Jim Tweeted: “Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best! S’okay! ?;^>”

Jenny said: “I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to [Jim's daughter] Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.”

We wish you guys all the best – we’re gonna miss the laughs we once had!

Funnyman Jim Carrey has been deliberately putting on weight before filming starts on his next project, The Three Stooges.

Jim is playing Curly in the film, and as we all know, Curly’s rotund figure looks absolutely nothing like Jim’s normal long and lanky physique. So there was nothing for it, but for Jim to start chowing down and try to build up his regular 170lb frame to at least 300lb and beyond. Even with the extra pounds, it’s still expected that he’ll have to wear a ‘fat-suit’ for the role.

Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro are reportedly joining Carrey to portray the slapstick trio. Penn will play Larry and Del Toro will play Moe.

Jim showed off his new heavyweight self at a photocall in New York’s Grand Central Station today, to promote Disney’s re-telling of A Christmas Carol which comes out soon.
