INF Daily caught up with Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson heading out for the evening in NYC last night. Is it just us, or are they ridiculously mismatched? Obviously we’re not advocating that they look like carbon copies, however Jessica looks like a throwback to the days when wearing a string of pearls and a mink stole were the perfect accessories.

We caught Jessica Simpson arriving at The Early Show this morning in New York City, where she finally opened up about her engagement to Eric Johnson. Which sounds like a very grownup affair, by the way. He talked to her mom and dad about it before talking to her. She sat on his knee. Presumably that confused Jess enough into thinking Johnson was Santa Claus, which would explain that fugly ring. She must have asked him for something red and sparkly, thinking it was Christmas.
