Janet cropped off her hair for her role as one of seven nameless women. The play is based on 20 poems about women’s issues such as love, abortion, rape, domestic violence, and death.

Janet Jackson cut her hair off last week. Why? Well with Janet you never really know, but there’s some gossip suggesting that Janet’s new boyfriend from Qatar, Wissam Al Mana, has something to do with it. More likely it has to do with the ending of her 7 year relationship with Jermaine Dupri. After Janet ended her secret marriage to René Elizondo, Jr. in 1998, she cut her hair short with new (equally short) bangs. Perhaps that’s Janet’s way of moving on, just like it’s Britney Spears’ way of losing control?

We spotted Ms. Jackson (yes, we are nasty) leaving Katsuya restaurant in L.A. last night.  Looking quite boobtastic, Janet ate dinner and then headed over to Hyde, where the DJ played jams from her new album Discipline.  You know, I think it’s a bit unfair how people have been giving Janet crap lately, saying that she’s trying to act too young.  She has sustained a two decade career in this industry, when most of her counterparts today breakdown after one album.  In my humble opinion, the lady who wrote Pleasure Principle can do whatever the hell she wants! 

The stars came out last night for the NAACP Image Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and they were lookin hot! I think this is the best looking awards show yet this season!  America Ferrara, Jordin Sparks, Bow Wow and Jurnee Smollett all represented well for the new comers while Janet Jackson and Vanessa Williams held it down for the red carpet vets.  Will the Oscars be able to contend with all these fashion smashes?!  We will certainly find out.
