Woah. Bristol Palin looked completely different at the Candies Foundation’s benefit last night. What’s going on here? Bristol got a lot of criticism for gaining weight during her time on Dancing With The Stars last spring.

In a classic nail biter finale, Tom Bergeron of Dancing With the Stars announced Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough the winners of the 2010 season. The two arrived at the Good Morning America studios this morning with their glitter ball trophy in tow.

The show was marked by lots of controversy, mainly having to do with Bristol Palin and the suggestions of voter fraud. But we like to think that good won over the dark side here.  Let’s face it, Jennifer Grey has some talent. Palin was a bit stiff and was consistently on the bottom of the leader board.

We noticed something interesting when this season’s celebrity cast of Dancing With the Stars arrived at the studio last night. Audrina Patridge – big smile on her face. David Hasselhoff posed with a “Don’t Hassel the Hoff” shirt for us. Kyle Massey was happy, jovial, and chatty. But Bristol Palin? Bristol looked like she was about to enter the sixth circle of hell.

She managed a painfully forced, tight smile for about two seconds, and then it almost looked like she was going to cry. Seriously Bristol, it’s just a foxtrot. No one’s knocking you up before the Republican convention. See More

It looks like it was too good to be true – Bristol Palin has broken up with Levi Johnston, hopefully forever. Bristol says they’ve only seen each other once since they announced to the world they were engaged again. Since then, Levi’s possibly fathered a child with another teenage girl (which the girl denies, but Levi admitted it was a possibility), taken off for Hollywood to shoot a music video, and generally done nothing but enjoy the limelight.

We’ll admit it: this one came as quite the jaw-dropper to us. Though it’s been reported over the last few weeks that relations have thawed between Bristol Palin and baby daddy Levi Johnston, with Levi publicly apologizing for his “youthful indiscretions” (aka talking some serious sh*t about the Palins for money… and posing for Playgirl) it looks like it was all part of a very carefully organized PR attempt to get the public to warm to Levi. The on-again couple just announced via Us Weekly that they’re engaged again.

Bristol Palin recently stated that her parents don’t support her financially – which is sort of hard to swallow, given Sarah Palin’s multi-million dollar book deal and all her public speaking fees. Bristol also said she works an 8-5 job five days a week, only gets a few hours of sleep a night, and lives by herself. She presented a fairly bleak picture of her day-to-day life. Whether it’s accurate is somewhat debatable.

Either way, things sure are picking up for her. She’s just been signed to a speakers bureau called Single Source Speakers, and she’ll get anywhere from $15,000 – $30,000 per speech. Imagine what she’d rake in if she gave just one speech a month – anywhere from $180,000 – $360,000 a year. Not bad for a 19-year-old with only a high school education. Bristol’s first engagement is the pro-life Heartbeat International Conference today in Florida.

In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Bristol said she is “excited to go to Orlando and meet the hundreds of pregnancy support providers from around the world that will be attending.”

Palin says she is also writing her first book, which will detail her experiences on the 2008 presidential campaign trails, the notoriety she has faced as a result of her relationship with ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston, and how she is raising their son Tripp as a single mom. (via Radar)

Bristol’s carved out a nice little niche for herself. She’s also getting some (semi) celebrity fans. Celebrity Rehab’s Dr. Drew Pinsky commended Bristol on her parenting: "’Bristol was fantastic. She is clearly a mother. Her parents (Sarah and Todd Palin), have handled it just right… Bristol is taking a sub-optimal situation and reaching out to her peers and trying to educate them about teen pregnancy."
