Anna Nicole Smith's former lawyer and friend Howard K. Stern has been charged with allegedly conspiring to fuel Anna with prescription drugs.  Stern along with Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich handed themselves in last night.

According to the Associated Press, court documents charge the three with providing the late model/actress with drugs prior to her fatal overdose in 2007. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office said that the defendants were charged with eight additional felonies, including obtaining fraudulent prescriptions and unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance. Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. released the following statement:
"These individuals repeatedly and excessively furnished thousands of prescription pills to Anna Nicole Smith, often for no legitimate medical purpose. There is ample evidence that Doctor Eroshevich and Doctor Kapoor violated their ethical obligations as physicians, while Mr. Stern funneled highly addictive drugs to Ms. Smith."

Stern and Kapoor were charged with one count of unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance. Eroshevich and Stern were charged with unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance between June 2004 and January 2007.

Today marks the one year anniversary of larger than life celebrity, Anna Nicole Smith.  To honor her memory, Anna's longtime friend Howard K. Stern has founded a charity in her name.  The Anna Nicole and Daniel Wayne Smith Charitable Foundation "will benefit charitable causes that Anna Nicole supported during her life: children, the elderly, and the treatment and cure of AIDS," according to Stern.  He also said that all donations made through February, 2008, will benefit a charity in the Bahamas "for underprivileged and at risk youths that Anna Nicole wanted to help." 
Larry Birkhead left a message on his website saying:
