Oh, Heidi and Seal. What are you doing to us? Look at what you’re putting us through. Who are we to believe in, if not our celebrities?

You’ve renewed your vows in lavish, over-the-top ceremonies every single year since you’ve been married. Seal, you proposed to Heidi in a custom made IGLOO. THAT IS LOVE.

But maybe not. According to initial sources, the two are getting a divorce. Since the first story came out, a few slightly less dramatic followups have said that Heidi Klum and Seal weren’t totally ready to throw everything away quite yet, but it was still super likely.

Seal’s Twitter was last updated with a sadly cryptic “The End.”

Then late last night Heidi and Seal finally released an official statement confirming the end of their relationship:

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,” the couple said in a statement. “We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.”

Despite all the (slightly) conflicting reports – which were really only “conflicting” in terms of the severity of the situation – what was clear from all accounts is that the seemingly perfect couple has had an extremely rough year together. It’s still sort of shocking… they really did appear to have one of the most stable marriages in Hollywood.
