Out with the old; in with the new! Russell Brand has confirmed everyone’s suspicions and filed for divorce from Katy Perry.

Filing the documents in Los Angeles, Brand cited the good ‘ol “irreconcilable differences.”

He released a statement noting, “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”

Katy and Russell spent Christmas 7,000 miles apart from each other – he stayed in England while she went to Hawaii. They’ve both been spotted without their wedding rings since then. 

The pair married in India in in October 2010.
