Johnny Depp was looking smart and sexy at the New York City premiere of The Rum Diary last night. A vest does that man so, so good. Co-star Amber Heard was hot as hell – it’s hard to steal attention away from Johnny Depp, but she came pretty close.

According to The Rum Diary director Bruce Robinson, Depp has a lot more going on than his looks and acting talent. “I didn’t know until I started working with him what an amazing painter he was… what an amazing musician he is. He is really like a Renaissance man. He can do everything. He can play any instrument. He is a great oil painter.”

Depp painted an 8 foot square canvas of Rolling Stone/Pirates Of The Caribbean costar Keith Richards, which now decorates Robinson’s home.
