Pics! Glowing Madonna Debuts W.E. At The Venice Film Festival

There’s no way around it: Madonna is owning the Venice Film Festival. She premiered her second directorial effort, W.E. yesterday. While the film about the love affair of Wallis Simpson and King Edward VIII (and his subsequent abdication of the throne) has gotten some mixed reviews, the Daily Mail very rightly points out that if people were shown the movie not knowing who the director was, they wouldn’t be so quick in their rush to judgment. They go on to praise the actors, story line, and the depth of Madge’s research, which she did over a number of years.

The plot sounds interesting, and everyone’s raving about the costumes. I’m still planning to give it a view. Madonna’s made her career on controversy and mixed opinions – but she’s done a lot of incredible work in her time, so I’ll make my own opinion, thankyouverymuch.
