I think everything knew that Chaz Bono appearing on Dancing with the Stars would create some controversy. Every television producer in the world wants to create buzz on their show and DWTS is no different. Casting Chaz was definitely a move to strike up a conversation. And it certainly worked.

Some viewers are furious about Bono dancing saying that ABC is pushing a homosexual agenda. Others have said they will no longer watch the show because of Chaz. But ABC executive producer Conrad Green fired back saying, “We don’t have an agenda of any sorts. I think of the 120 celebrities we’ve put on the show, we’ve had, I think now, three transgender or gay contestants. If that’s a homosexual agenda, we’re not doing very well at it.” Despite the angry vitriol over Bono, there are a lot of people who support ABC’s decision to cast Chaz.

Our photographers caught up with Bono and his dancing partner Lacey Schwimmer as they were coming out of rehearsals. Whatever anyone thinks of the dancing, it’s clear that Chaz and Lacey are enjoying each others company and have already formed a friendship.
