There’s no question that Alec Baldwin is interested in politics. He’s even mentioned from time to time that he would like to be mayor of New York. But, when Alec thinks about running for the office right now, eh, he’d rather do 30 Rock and hang out with his girlfriend Hilaria Thomas. Can you blame him!

Alec went on the David Letterman show last night and got to meet one of his heros Joe Namath. Alec, Dave and Joe were out on the plaza throwing the pigskin around and Baldwin was very excited about the idea. He tweeted about the event as if his life depended on it, including this little gem, ‘Namath to me on Letterman tonight. “You’re the slowest receiver I ever played with.”

Alec couldn’t have been too slow – he’s definitely shed a few lbs. I’m guessing that having a super sexy girlfriend 26 years his junior might have inspired Alec to get in shape. Hey, whatever it takes, right?
