Amy Winehouse’s Autopsy Inconclusive; She Was Likely Dead For Hours Before Discovery
We’ll be waiting another two to four weeks to find out what killed Amy Winehouse. Her autopsy was performed today at St. Pancras Mortuary in London and proved inconclusive. That means the coroner will make his ruling based on her toxicology results, which will take some time. It also means Winehouse didn’t die from any sort of trauma, which would have been evident from an autopsy.
Now that the autopsy has been completed, Janis and Mitch Winehouse can start making Amy’s funeral arrangements.
It’s also been reported that Winehouse died in bed on Saturday, and there was no evidence of drugs nearby. According to People, she told her bodyguard she was going to bed at 10 a.m. They went to wake her at 4 p.m. when they found her. People also notes that rigor mortis had set in by then, directly contradicting TMZ’s reports that there were “signs of life” when the paramedics arrived.
