“My name is Maximus Stomachus Distendious. And I will eat my lunch with a vengeance in this life or the next!” So says Russell Crowe. Sort of. It’s a take off from his movie Gladiator, but Russell is no where near the kind of shape he was in for that movie.

Russell is fat. There’s just no two ways about it. And he’s not like, attractive fat. Crowe is couch potato, eating pop tarts for dinner, fat. Luckily after his lunch in Beverly Hills with a friend (which probably was NOT a salad), the pair decided to go for a stroll and walk some of it off. Of course, he had a doggie bag – just in case he got a little peckish on the walk home.

There may be a method to his madness though – Crowe is in talks to play Jor-El (Superman’s dad) in the new movie remake of Man of Steel. That role was made famous by Marlon Brando back in 1978. Filming begins in August so we’re guessing he’s trying to emulate Marlon in acting chops and size for this role.
