Sean Penn has so much happening in his life and yet, he can barely manage to smile on the red carpet for the premiere of his latest film, This Must Be The Place. In fact, he looked as though he was growling the whole time. Either some photographers pissed him off or Scarlett Johansson is holding out on him.

Sean’s movie, about an ex-rocker living in Ireland who goes on a journey to find the concentration camp guard that watched his father during the second world war doesn’t seem like it could be a big winner. And yet, it is one of those must see films at Cannes this year. We’d like to see the film just to see Penn dressed like Robert Smith from The Cure. Oh yeah, Penn’s character is an aging rocker who still sports all the makeup on a daily basis.

Speaking of aging rockers, Courtney Love made a splash on the red carpet as did Gwen Stefani. Obviously when the producers were figuring out the guest list, those two popped into their minds first!
