Keira Knightly  made an appearance at The Daily Show in New York. Outside as she was signing autographs, some over zealous fans in the back pushed against the crowd to catch a glimpse of the star. Of course, that meant those in the front toppled over the fencing and went down for the count. The Daily Show crew helped out those that fell down while Keira jumped in her car and took off.

Now, we understand that Keira was concerned for her own safety but wouldn’t it have been nice if she hung around to make sure the lady was okay? She just took off? That seems a little, what’s the word? Pathetic? Selfish? Rude? Fill in the blank? What do you think? Do you think she might have stayed and it was her people that shoved her in the car? One does wonder.

Keira is making the talk show rounds promoting her latest film, Last Night opposite Avatar’s Sam Worthington. It’s a romantic comedy and the director (who happens to be one of Keira’s best friends) told Knightly to just play herself. Apparently, that is a no-no for actors – they never want to do that. So Keira pushed back. Here’s how she described it on the Today Show. “(Playing yourself) is last thing any actor wants to hear but the director happens to be one of my best friends. So she was just like “do that thing that you do” and I was like “no, please don’t make me do that”. But I did it in the end.’

Honestly, it is mind boggling that these people are asked to promote anything. That line is pure drivel. Again, it just goes on to show that these people need scripts. Big time! They are totally uninteresting in an interview.
