Yesterday Mariah Carey released the tantalizing information that both of her twins’ names started with M. Not to be totally bitchy, but we pretty much assumed that’d be the case. Today she and husband Nick Cannon announced that they’ve named their son Moroccan Scott and their daughter Monroe Cannon. The latter sounds like some kind of revolutionary war reference. Whoops.

No explanation was given for the first names, but Mariah and Nick did go into the reasoning behind the middle names. Scott is Nick’s middle name. And poor little Monroe doesn’t even get one. She better get the bigger golden crib or something to make up for it. Apparently Mariah doesn’t have a middle name, and therefore her daughter won’t either.

Everything considered, the names aren’t that bad. Most of us were assuming they’d be something like Zoomba Sparklefairy and Ladybug Diamondheart. We were pleasantly – and totally – shocked.
