The People’s Choice Awards were held last night in Los Angeles and stars came out to play. Some of the winners were pretty obvious. We knew Glee would take home the favorite TV comedy award and that Jane Lynch would be the fan favorite comedy actress. Hugh Laurie was a shoe-in for House. And how could we guess anything but The Twilight Saga: Eclipse taking home Favorite Movie?

But then the people threw a curve ball. They voted for Grown Ups as their favorite comedy film. Really? We couldn’t even get through the trailer. It gets worse. The people’s favorite comedy star was Adam Sandler? Then they picked Rachael Ray as their favorite television chef. Who are these people? We don’t like them.

Some of the categories are pretty odd. For instance, Zac Efron didn’t win for anything in particular. He’s just under 25 and they like him. They also have a category for favorite tv obsession. The show doesn’t have to fit any particular format, you just have to like it. The peeps voted Keeping up with the Kardashians as their favorite guilty pleasure. You are guilty for watching it, but we’re wondering what pleasure you derive from the experience. This award will probably cement another season for the show. Terrific. Thanks guys.
