Jon Gosselin Tries To Hide His Cigarette

INF Daily found Jon Gosselin and girlfriend Ellen Ross spending a day in the sun by the pool at Jon’s apartment on Saturday, along with his eight kids. Who, frankly, looked pooped out from all that swimming. We noticed both Ellen and Jon were on their phones for a bit, perhaps arranging dinner plans for the family?

After a while Jon lit up a cigarette and seemed to enjoy it – that is until he spotted our photographer. Then he looked like a kid caught with his hand in a (very smoky) cookie jar, trying to hide his cig behind his back.

    actually they were having a blast and were talking to his girlfriend for a good hour about what they were doing in school. (i could only hear because they talk loud, as most children do) and i was down there too trying to catch some sun. the photographer was hiding in a hotel window at the hotel across from our complex. ellen spotted him and jon waved his hand and said ehh ignore him, and everyone chuckled. i must say, those kids love to swim!!

    and INF you may want to ask your photographer to park somewhere else because a lot of the neighbors in our complex have been calling him out for trespassing. half the time he’s there jon isn’t even home so i dont know why hes waiting there? it’s rather creepy. my dog doesnt seem to like him lol

    my boyfriend just saw this and wanted me to add (since we were both there) who do you get your info from? they weren’t on their phones at all. they were both on at the same time for about 2 minutes because they asked what time a local restaurant opened, we didnt know, so they got on their phones real quick. the kids were even awaiting an answer. man you guys really just take a picture and go with it huh? just make up a story. geesh!

    So they weren’t but were on their phones? The article is based on the pictures, our photographer didn’t go over and chat anyone up about their phone conversations. I’m guessing that wouldn’t be appreciated.

    and i did indeed hear the kiddos say something about “mommys not home, we dont know where she is” what a sad thought for a child to have. :( the one who said it was the tiniest girl, she had such a high pitched voice but it sounded so sad when it came out.

    The Gosselin kids seem okay with swimming in the apartment complex pool. Kate got the house in the divorce, Jon has his place. That’s what a NORMAL divorced couple does. They don’t continue to let the ex-spouse hang out by their pool, and let their girlfriend tag along, especially when the exes don’t get along. I love it when people say the Gosselin kids PAID for the house. You sound so ridiculous and kind of bitter.

    Why do people excuse this LOSER? Jon is smoking cigarettes in front of the kids not to mention he can never see his kids without that UGLY DOG ELLEN. Jon has never atempted to be with the kids without her. I don’t think he wants a relationship with his kids alone. How long can you call it a relationship with his kids when he brings this girl with him. How much alone time has he had with his kids. The kids don’t look happy and the only place Jon can take them is to the pool. They looked BORED and UNCOMFORTABLE. That’s Jon’s fault because he won’t get a JOB. LOSER! JON NEEDS TO SPEND TIME ALONE WITH HIS KIDS AND SHOW THEM BETTER EXAMPLES.

    Looks like Jon doesn’t give a darn about the health of his kids. Second hand smoke is worse then on the person smoking the cigarette. Also cigarette smoke is drawn to the water like a swimming pool so Jon is risking his own kids health by smoking around the poo. This is a fact folks not something made up. Science did a study and cigarette smoke will put a whole layer of second hand smoke on top of the water so those poor kids are getting more smoke in their lungs than their dad is. Why can’t Jon spend a day with his kids instead of Ellen being there all the time? Whenever you look at the photos you hardly ever see Jon interacting with is own kids or even looking at them when they are playing. I guess he would rather be in the apartment watching movies with Ellen instead of spending quality time with his kids.

    Barbara – actually jon has the kids quite often without her. shes never with him when he has them during the week? maybe it’s because its quite difficult to take care of 8 kids all alone and it seemed pretty smooth to have them both there at the pool. ive even seen a few weekend days here and there where it was just him around the complex and she was no where to be seen. sheesh you were quick to judge!

    Any photos of J&E w/ the Gosselin 8 @ the arcade?? The fans went crazy taking photos of the kids, even when J&E asked them to stop. What is worst? Fans obsessively trying to take photos or the paps? Read Ellen’s FB. She was upset that the kids could not enjoy their time at the arcade b/c fans where taking pictures & trying to talk to the kisd, even when they were asked to stop. Where are the bodyguards for the kids when the fans don’t respect their privacy? Where are the body guards when STRANGERS/fans try to talk to the kids, sometimes scaring the kids?

    and even if there were bodyguards – they cant follow the kids individual every moves. whats best for them is that they be off tv. plain and simple. the arcade is within walking distance from our complex so im assuming they probably walked through the one alley to get there, and the photographer wouldnt have seen anyways because he sits on a different side and stares obsessively at the van. hooray for outsmarting the papz!

    TO Kate Sucks: TLC has stated that there is no cancellation. As for not being on the schedule, Kate + 8 is now intermittent specials, not a scheduled series.

    As for Steve Neild, with the constant cameras on Kate, no one has yet come up with anything other than the rumors that Jon admitted he started without foundation to support any idea that there is anything unprofessional going on. BTW, he’s in Italy with his wife celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. As for where Kate is, that’s her business when the kids are with their father. She’s hardly going to be there.

    PeggyP, WRONG. Gina Neild was seen yesterday in Maryland. There’s something fishy about that whole Italy trip and with Kate all of a sudden MIA. Oh, and by the way, Steve and Kate disappeared together for two days during their Alaska filming a couple of months ago.     Hey when did you khaters miss the part that there was going to only be 7 specials of the kids this season? It isn’t a weekly show and just specials so of course it’s not going to be in the weekly line up. You really need to stay informed or is it you know but just love to spread your lies and hatred? The arcade photo is a joke that your are speaking of. The Gosselin kids don’t get mobbed by a bunch of teenagers. It’s not like they are teen idols.

    INTERESTING, how you yourself make assumptions and come up with this junk is amazing. The kids know how to reach their mom anytime they want. Why would a mother have to detail her every move? That’s so silly to even say that. Kate has her phone with her all the time and the kids can call her whenever they want. Kate has to be careful because if the kids tell daddy where mom is, good old Jon Boy will inform the paps where she is. He has even admitted publicly he loves sending the paps after her because he knows it irriates her.

    If the people in the apartment complex doesn’t want the pap around they should be talking to the management company and complain constantly and allow the police to be called for this guy trespassing It would be nice to see the kids get some privacy when they are with either of their parents.

    The kids by the way are not working when they are with their mom. They are playing and having fun and acting like normal kids. No scripts just fun. Just because they have cameras on them while playing doesn’t make it work. How many of you parents take video pictures of your children during holidays, birthdays, playing sports or just playing? Does that mean you all are making your kids work? I don’t think so. It’s such a ridiculous idea that some of you have. They are taking fun and educational trips and if you were honest wouldn’t you love the same thing for your kids?

    Paula get a life. Kate was not smoking at Bald Head Island and ironically it’s a khater that we owe the credit to for dispelling that rumor. JibberJabbers on her website did extensive research and what was seen was an optical illusion from the flapping of the tent.     Did Chris go to Alaska with them?
    How does Kate get by Chris when she does not have custody?

    Also I absolutely loved the spin Radar put on the Whole Foods pictures of Kate. After driving and not knowing where the heck she was going Chris led her there!! Then Radar the true defenders of Kate claimed she drives an hour one way to shop organic. WOW how many times have we seen that happen? I am thinking one. Lucky for Kate Chris was there or she might still be driving around.

But, just between us they are the same ones that claim Radar online paid Jodi and Kevin 90,000 for an interview. They then paid off a mortgage. Must be some big bucks to be made, I am missing out.

    Hey, Paula. There’s a time of year called SUMMER time. It gets really hot in certain areas, and yet people YOUNG AND OLD venture outside in the heat, and they LIVE! These people go willingly into the heat of summertime, because they’re not WUSSES who need air conditioning to get by. I’m sure Kate and the kiddies weren’t the only brave souls walking around in NY this summer – and they all LIVED! YAY!

    If you have some evidence other than a tabloid story about Kate “threatening” the kids with a wooden spoon, then please provide a link to it. If you don’t agree with spanking children, then don’t spank YOURS. If you think that any parent using a switch or a stick to spank their kids is wrong, then take it up with the gov’t, who STILL allows that sort of discipline to be used at the PARENTS’ discretion. If you don’t like that law then work to change it. Good luck with that.

    Jon smokes. I don’t think it’s a big deal. Of course, it would be best for HIM if he quits, as well as for the kids, but it’s his choice. He smokes outside in front of the kids. As long as it’s not illegal he should be allowed to smoke wherever he wants, whenever he wants. There are so many people “policing” everything that Jon and Kate do. Maybe Jon choosing to smoke in front of the children will be bad for them, maybe it won’t be. Maybe they’ll take up smoking because they see their Dad doing it. Maybe they won’t. Maybe the fact that he smokes disgusts them, maybe it doesn’t. Maybe they worry about his health because smoking AND being overweight is a bad combination. Maybe they’re not aware of the possible risks. Jon’s the grown-up, Jon’s MOST LIKELY aware of the health risks to both him and the people around him. It’s still HIS CHOICE. As much as I am not a fan of Jon’s, and as much as I think smoking in front of kids is wrong – it’s still HIS choice.

    Jon would have to be shown lighting up cigs for the kids for him to be a worse parent than Kate. How would a mother not have a general conversation with her kids about what she’s going to do while they are with daddy. I’m not divorced, but I would think a mother would say, I’m going to go visit a friend, catch up on stuff around the house, (we know she does nothing around the house, just generalizing). Or the kids would ask, are you going to miss us? Just shows how much smoke she blows out her ass, about kids wanting to come home. She is just an all for show mother, she has no real relationship with her kids other than as drill sargent.

    I caught bits of the last show on youtube, can you image the looks on the lunch rooms monitors, we the children eat their lunch, in her ORDERED order, the must look like stepford children. Eating the same thing at the same time in the same order, that is NOT NORMAL for children.

    Liz, by what means are the kids able to reach their mom any time they want? They don’t have their own cell phones, are they going to steal dad’s or Ellen’s. Or maybe she’s telepathic? She’s in need of intense therapy for her childhood issues, but I don’t think she’ gone ET yet? Do you think kids that can’t tie their own shoes actually know their home phone number of mother’s cell phone? And if she’s out of the country again, i.e., Mexico, her cell phone won’t work, unless she’s bought an international one.

Why does that bother you? It doesn’t bother me. At least she is working and has offers coming in so there is a reason for her phone and yes if the kids want to reach her they can call her. Did you know that most kids that age still don’t know how to tie their shoes? Big deal. They will learn in time just like any other kid.     Liz – Kate is not celebrity. Watch Angie Harmon on Oprah today, she had tears in her eyes, because she is so happy she got her family OUT of LA. That’s Kate’s “dream” to expose her innocent children to the LA life. Kate – go to LA, leave your kids in their house with Jon, it will take weeks before they notice she’s gone. I don’t care what color her phone is, it’s the appearance she gives that her phone is always more important than the children that are with her at the moment. And get this, I do not watch the show any longer, I saw plenty of her abuse when it was still a cute show, but could no longer take all her screaming. Usually it’s kids that can get on your nerves, not a screaming, yapping “mother”. Is Liz living w/ Kate now, she actually knows how much time Kate spends with her children vs the nannies? I would place a bet that she is not there from the time they get home, doing homework with them, looking over their daily school papers, making dinner, which she gives the appearance of serving in childish plates, supervising bath time and settling them into comfy beds. How idiotic is it, that this million dollar mama, can’t buy a set of dishes for a family to serve dinner on nightly. Don’t give me crab that the kids might break one, they a replaceable, the dishes, not the children, or the memories of a family dinner hour. She doesn’t talk with her children, she barks at them. Does she even know the name of a few of her kids friends, or who they sat next to at lunch?

    Take your blinders off in regards to this hateful mother. Have you ever seen a genuine, loving hug or moment between her and any of her children, even one that was filmed. She even fakes for the camera. With all the time Chris is around her, you’d think he’d be able to come up with a candid shot of a loving hug, but there is nothing out there.

Sometimes the threat alone is enough to get the kid in line. With my parents it was a melon baller. I never knew why until a couple of years ago when my Mom told me she saw Sophia of the Golden Girls say she liked to “lay into her kids with a melon baller” if they ever got out of line. It sounded like a good threat to her, so she used it – but she NEVER actually hit us with a melon baller. :) So, unless you can also provide a LINK to where she actually HITS the kids with a wooden spoon, I’m apt to believe it was an empty threat.

    Hey, SUCKI, if you think it’s wrong, why don’t you work to change the law? As you quoted me, it’s not illegal to discipline your child with an object, so calling the police would do you no good.

    Smoking is not illegal at that location….but it is in many parts of the country now. Whole campuses at hospitals and colleges have gone to NO SMOKING zones because of the irrefutable dangers to the smoker and non-smoker who inhales the dangerous 2nd hand smoke.

    And what happened to Jon’s supposed weight loss….guess it all jumped back on him?

    And the post by someone called “interesting”…is indeed interesting. She just happens to live there and happens to be at the pool and happens to over hear the Gosselin kids speaking?     And the big reason why the kids often do not know where Kate is when she is working is to prevent Jon from calling a pap to get exclusive pictures and a paycheck for Jon.     Why is it everyone says where is Kate when Jon has the kids? Does anyone ask where is Jon when they are with Kate? Of course not. Kate can go anywhere she likes when Jon has the kids.
    Their custody agreement is that they split their time with the kids. So why bother with where Kate is? I bet she is working. Can Jon say that when Kate is home with the kids? NO

    Once in a while I’ll pop in on the conversations, but generally I’m not going to be involved in the comment threads anymore. That was an editorial decision made a while ago. Gosselin issues are important to the people in the comments, and while I appreciate everyone’s time and participation, this is my job, not my hobby. I have to allocate how I spend my time at work, and have other duties that need to take priority.

    In the comment you’re referencing, I said that I wasn’t going to address that question about Jon anymore because I’ve answered it several times in the past; and the last time I answered it I stated I wouldn’t repeat myself again. Thus I was reaffirming my previous position. I also said the question hadn’t been asked in a while, which was also true. The only reason I mentioned that part was because the commenter claimed their “father” (sorta unusual, but whatever) had asked the same question and it had been deleted. I responded that no one had asked the question in a while (meaning if the commenter was saying their father had recently asked the question, then he was mistaken).

    The two are not mutually exclusive, and you’re trying to draw a contradiction which doesn’t exist.

    How would Interesting know what Jon and Ellen were looking at on their phones for “like 2 minutes at the same time” unless she was ELLEN or JON. She said the only reason she overheard what the kids were saying was because they were LOUD like kids are. Uh-huh- then how exactly did she overhear their phone screen searching for a restaurant’s opening time? Hmmmm? And why would the littlest Gosselin be asked where Kate was? Why would Ellen do that anyway? What info is Ellen trying to pump out of those kids and why? Hmmm? No wonder Kate can’t tell the kids where she is. They are going to see Ellen, who needs info on Kate to sell to the tabs? “Interesting” isn’t it?
