Sandra Bullock Opens Health Clinic at New Orleans High School

Sandra Bullock was one of the many celebs who chose to be in New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The actress lives there part time, and has been actively involved in several local charities.

This weekend Bullock attended the ribbon cutting ceremony of Warren Easton Charter High School’s new on-campus health clinic. It has full-service medical and dental facilities, and Sandra was instrumental in getting it built. After Katrina, Bullock “adopted” the school, which was completely destroyed in the flooding.

During her speech, Bullock noted of the students, “These young adults have seen the very worst, and they are committed to the very best,” said Bullock. ” They are our future leaders. I would like to thank the students who step up to the plate and do the hardest work. I didn’t do it in high school, and it makes me so incredibly proud.”
