Madonna Scouts Movie Locations in the French Riviera
Yesterday afternoon INF Daily’s photographers found Madonna doing some location scouting for her film W.E. in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France. Not a bad gig, huh? The singer/actress/now director has been working on the movie for the last month, mostly shooting in and around London. But this week the shoot’s taken Madge and her crew to the South of France where she surveyed several yachts.
Madonna co-wrote the script for the period-piece W.E., which is about King Edward’s romance with American divorcee Wallis Simpson in the thirties. Right after he ascended the throne in 1936 Edward took Wallis on an extravagant cruise around Eastern Europe where the two drank themselves silly, visited Nazi-sympathizing countries, and generally mortified the British government. It looks like Madonna is probably filming scenes about the King’s pivotal cruise – she finally settled on an antique yacht thought to be a stand-in for the Royal family’s yacht, Nahlin.
