Carrie Underwood Performs on The Today Show; Says Married Life Same as Dating

Carrie Underwood performed on The Today Show this morning, and the highest-selling American Idol winner chatted about her 19-day-old marriage to hockey player Mike Fisher. She told Matt Lauer that married life is pretty much the same as dating: she and Mike are still separated for long stretches, and probably will be for the foreseeable future.

“[Married life] is a lot like dating life, actually,” Underwood, 27, told Matt Lauer during a pause in her performance Friday. “My husband’s working with kids at his hockey school, and I’m here!” (via MSNBC). Mike has joked that their main residence will be the airport – but Carrie told Lauer they both knew what they were getting into. “It’s good; we’re both very busy people and understand each other’s lives,” she said. “So we’re OK with it.”
