Do you remember the good ‘ol days when everyone celebrated a birthday by getting together for a cookout in the backyard? Presents would involve a DVD or a football or something. No one sponsored anything, with the exception of that 20% off coupon you used from Subway. Makes you long for those halcyon days.

These days, your birthday party’s gotta have a red carpet. There’s gotta be a sponsor. Or two. Their names need to be printed along the walls you pose in front of when you walk down your red carpet. Obviously security is a must. And you better get multiple thousand-dollar presents. Or else your wife doesn’t love you.

Such is the case with Eva Longoria and Tony Parker. Tony just turned 28, and his birthday celebrations have been going on for two weeks in not one, not two, but three cities. The parites moved from Miami to Los Angeles to Las Vegas, where the big shindig wrapped up last night. After that much partying most of us would feel at least a year older, but not Tony Parker. He seems re-energized. Though that could have as much to do with his awesome presents as anything else. Eva Longoria’s really going the distance here.

"I got him a lot of things," Eva Longoria-Parker said Saturday before celebrating her husband’s birthday at Las Vegas’s Eve Nightclub. "I got him four-wheelers because he wanted a new four-wheeler, and I got him a Microsoft surface computer that he can touch and play with."

The gift-giving will only continue, with one present still to open.

"I can’t wait to see the surprise," Parker immediately said. "I don’t have a birthday wish list. Whatever she gives me I’m fine with it. I’m happy." (via People)

Wonder what that last surprise present could be? Eva didn’t mention it. We’d like to think a baby or something else equally dramatic. Actually we can’t think of anything else equally dramatic since they’re already married. Perhaps next year Tony Parker’s birthday present should be staying at home and ordering in a pizza. Might be a nice break.
