I've known Tony Vera for at least twenty years.
Unless he underwent some sort of Jekyll and Hyde personality transformation I think it's impossible to lump in a box with other celeb photographers. That's because the Tony Vera that I knew was Tony the Fireman, the good natured, kind and generous street performer who has been delighting crowds in NYC, Venice Beach, Japan and the WORLD, for about THIRTY years.
He was such a friend and goodwill promoter that the NYFD gave him a uniform and a firefighter's hat and made him their unofficial ambassador.
So say what you like about paparazzi in general but unless you know Tony Vera personally, you simply don't know what you're talking about. Tyson is a tragic figure to be sure but Tony isn't the monster folks are making him out to be.

I agree with the person about the bandage job. That is ridiculous how they bandaged him. I hope that Tyson gets off for this. Its terrible how people will stoop so low to harass someone who everyone knows has had such a bad life. I think paparazzi should be subject to different laws than the average person since they, in many times, are provoking the subject.

OMG so sorry to hear about tony!! i worked with him at cheteau marmont in 2008 after vmas and also a day before Khloe kardashian wedding along side Eric another INF pap and he is totally kind and respectful this is so crazy i can expect other paps getting beat down but NOT TONY!! he was NEVER disrespectful he would get his shot and get out!!

Maybe this will show everyone that people should have privacy. Mike Tyson has made a lot of bad choices in his life. Losing a child has been devastating for him, did the photographer not watch OPRAH. You want a couple of shots fine, but following him around like an animal and your going to get bit...all pun intended....
