Katie Holmes‘ fashion sense has had its up and downs in the past.. but it looks like she finally figured out the secret!

We spotted Katie out shopping at Maxfields in Beverly Hills, California, yesterday wearing a cute argyle sweater.. grey skinny jeans.. and a pair of black heels to tie her look all together.. but where did her sudden fashion wake-up call come from?!

None other than her 3-year old daughter Suri Cruise!

Miss Cruise also helped mommy get ready for Elle magazine’s Women in Hollywood Tribute Monday night.. and gave her "a big thumbs up!" Who needs professionals when you have a daughter like Suri!?
