Everyone knows Gavin Rossdale loves himself a game of tennis.

So he must have been beside himself with joy when he got the chance to dine out with Roger Federer last night.

We caught up with Gav, Rog and their better halves, Gwen Stefani and Roger's wife, Mirka, as they hit-up the posh Upper East Side Italian, Sandro's.

We're not sure what the ladies were talking about, but we're damn sure Gav was asking how he could improve his backhand top spin.
