Heath Ledger’s father Kim Ledger, his mother Sally Bell and his sister Kate Ledger accepted his Academy Award for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight.  Audience members were visibly moved as each family member read a prepared statement.

"Tonight we are choosing to celebrate and be happy for what he has achieved," Sally Bell said as she stood at the podium.  Kate Ledger added, "We proudly accept this award on behalf of your beautiful Matilda."
