Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes and Samuel L. Jackson gathered in Paris, France last night for their new movie, The Spirit.

The Frank Miller film based on the comic book of the same name features Samuel L. Jackson as The Octopus, nemesis to The Spirit. Scar Jo and Eva play Silken Floss and Sand Seref, two ladies who are along for wild, crime caper of a ride.

I thought Eva and Scar Jo stood as strong examples of what to wear and what not wear on the red carpet.  While Eva looked sexy and pulled together in her beautifully draped polka dot dress, Scar Jo looked like she’s in a period costume.  The tea length of the white dress with her hair pulled back in a tight ponytail was not becoming on her, add in the sash and it looked like she was trying a little to hard to go for 50s glam.  Samuel L. of course looked awesome as always in his Kangol hat and velvet pants; can’t go wrong with velvet.
