Joaquin Phoenix wants you to know he really meant it when he said he was done making films.  After announcing last week that he is retiring from acting, Joaquin showed up to the 2008 AFI Film Festival Screening of Che held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles over the weekend with the words "good" and "bye" written on his knuckles, except that he printed them in reverse order. 

Now whether he drunkenly made the mistake or he did it on purpose there seems to be no real explanation as to why he took to temporary tattoos to make a statement. Joaquin has been known for his erratic behavior in the past and and while the knuckle tats along with his mussed hair and dark glasses may look kind of shady (drugs) it sort of falls in line with his personality.  His rep has commented, "He’s fine. He just wants to focus on music, and he’ll be at the screening of his film Two Lovers on Saturday night in LA, and he’s directed a number of music videos over the past couple of years."  Guess we’ll have to check out what his hands say next weekend.
