TRAVIS BARKER AND DJ AM IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER FATAL JET CRASH
Travis Barker and DJ AM were critically injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina Friday night that killed four people.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen tells the Associated Press the plane, carrying six people, was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. It appears the plane was attempting to take off, ran off the runway through a fence and hit an embankment, according to initial reports. The plane then caught fire.
Travis has burns on his torso and lower body and DJ AM has burns on his arm and part of his head. Sadly, the other passengers in the jet, pilot Sarah Lemmon, co-pilot James Bland, Travis’ assistant, Charles Still and Travis’ body guard, Chris Baker, all died in the crash.
A memorial was placed outside of Travis’ Los Angeles store to honor the victims.
Travis and DJ AM are currently being treated in a burn unit of a Georgia hospital where they have received visits from friends and ex-girlfriends, Jermaine Dupri, Shanna Moakler and Mandy Moore.
