David Beckham was unveiled as the ‘great white hope’ of US soccer this morning at the LA Galaxy’s stadium Home Depot Stadium. During a sometimes forced welcome speech, Becks mistakenly called the game "football" instead of ‘soccer" then apologized to fans, saying "I’ll have to get used to that." He did sound sincere when he told the crowd that he was glad to be in LA, and was looking forward to the challenge of playing for the Galaxy.
Earlier in the morning, Victoria, who was on hand wearing pink to support her hubby at his unveiling, called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. She tried to dispel Seacrest’s suggestions that she never smiled because she had bad teeth. He said: "How are your teeth? Are they okay, or are they British?" She replied: "My teeth are fine! They don’t look like a row of bombed-up houses or anything."
