If Ms. Hilton really had a medical condition, why wasn't it dealt with in the jail. There are people in jail with AIDS, cancer, and mental conditions and they get the help from the medical staff at the correctional facilites. Also, did the stupid A** sheriff attach any restrictions for Ms. Hilton. Lets remember why she went to jail to begin with....... DUI ....DAAAH. Let me just say that I absolutely cannot stand Paris Hilton in any way, shape or form. While a DUI isn't technically a violent crime, I think it's just as bad. What, are we all going to stand around and let people drive drunk and not punish them until they drive over someone? Uh... no.
She deserves to spend every second of 45 days in jail for her blatant disregard for and flouting of the law. HOWEVER, I do think it is particularly sucky that anyone be returned their freedom and then, because Sheriff McMoron is a twit, be sent back to the slammer. I'd cry, too - but she's still a slutty flake who looks like marvelous CRAP in that picture.

Oh and for the people who think the judge made an example out of her and gave more than the usual time for the crime, you’re wrong. I got arrested 1 time for driving on a suspended license and the judge gave me 45 days. I did a little over 2 weeks in the county jail along side murders and hardcore gang members. And my license wasn't suspended for something as serious as "drunk driving"; it was suspended for an unpaid speeding ticket.

Getting the amount of time she got is the average amount of time you would get for that crime and you usually would spend more than a week in jail, but not in a private cell being pampered by the jailhouse staff.

Its great that you think A DUI is a violent crime, but unless you get in a wreck, legally it isn't considered one. As negligent as a DUI is, it isn't like stabbing somebody in the throat or raping somebody.
Those are violent crimes, and sorry...people who get drunk then drive aren't in the same category. Keeping this stupid girl in jail is a waste of money. Think of all the man power and concessions that have to be made to keep her there. THe fact is most people in her shoes would be let out due to the LA county's inmate count right now. Look at the numbers. The court is just scared of looking bad with all the scrutiny and therefore will keep her there foor a few weeks, sobbing and wailing like a blubbering idiot.

paris hilton may diserv to go to jail..but i think the judge should of given her a chance to say what she wanted to say about her illness...shes going to do the time in jail so why didnt she get a chance to talk . First of all, drunk driving is a violent crime. Don't say it isn't. Tell that to all the loved ones of those who have been killed by the selfish people who drink and then get behind the wheel. Second, Paris Hilton showed no remorse and a lack of respect for the law by continuing to drive, being late to court, etc. Finally, her family clearly tried to pull some strings by getting her moved to her home under "house arrest." As an average, non-celebrity citizen, I highly doubt that I would be given the same concessions if I were the one who had committed these crimes. Guess what? Jail is not supposed to be FUN. It is JAIL-- the whole point is to make you suffer for a crime you committed. If Paris is uncomfortable or suffering, TOO BAD. That's the whole point. On the red carpet the other night, she told a reporter that she didn't want any special treatment because (according to her) the media portrays her in an inaccurate way and she wanted to show that she isn't like that. This comment just shows that the media doesn't portray her inaccurately, and she clearly doesn't take responsibility or ownership of her poor behavior, choosing instead to blame things on the media. I am pleasantly surprised that the judge had the integrity to do the right thing and send her back to jail. I hope that someone takes the time to investigate who accepted a pay-off for releasing Paris from the county jail. Bottom line-- being rich and famous doesn't make you a good human being. I hope that her ridiculous behavior negatively affects her "career." I know, don't say it-- what, exactly, does she do again???

Paris deserves what every other inmate would have received. truth is, most people sentenced for this long for a non-violent offense end up serving 24 hours in LA county. Paris is getting screwed. Say what you will about her, this is an absurd "making an example out of her" situation. They would have straight released her and skipped on the 'house arrest' attempt if she wasn't who she was. This story is such a big deal, ESPN is interrupting their sports coverage to provide up to the minuter details of her story.
